For a wrong rate, please include: the country, the salary you entered, the figure you expected, and the official page you compared it against.

Nothing is sent until you press send in your own email app, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

What to contact us about

A tax rate or figure looks wrong

This is the most useful message we get. Our calculators are built from published government rates, and a rate can change, be transcribed incorrectly, or apply to a case the model does not cover. If something looks off, tell us which market, which salary you used, what you expected, and the official page you compared it against — we check it against the source and fix the engine if it is wrong.

The calculator will not do what you need

A broken result, a page that will not load, a wrong total on one country or a specific salary, or a figure that changes when you switch pay period. Screenshots and the exact URL help, because we need to reproduce it before we can fix it.

A question about the method or the sources

Which tax year a market uses, why two markets with the same salary can show different take-home pay, why an effective rate is lower than a marginal rate, or what a particular deduction line means. The Methodology & Sources page answers the common versions of these; anything it does not cover is welcome here.

Embedding, permissions and partnerships

Using the calculator on your own site, intranet or blog, integrating the widget, or any question about how the embed is licensed. There is no charge and no API key — see the embed page for the code snippet, and write to us if you need something the snippet does not cover.

Reporting a wrong rate: the details that let us fix it

A correction we can act on usually contains four things: the country or state page, the salary you entered, the figure the calculator produced, and the figure you believe is correct with a link to where it is published. If you already know the tax year and the official body behind it, include those too. With those details we can compare the engine against the source, and if we were wrong we will say so and change the number — a rate that is wrong on a calculator is worse than a rate that is missing.

Questions we are asked most

Your figure differs from my payslip. Why?

The calculator models a single earner on a straightforward salary. A payslip reflects your own tax code, student loan, pension contributions, benefits in kind, prior-year adjustments and any irregular pay in the period. Those are the usual reasons for a difference. If you think the difference is caused by a rate we have wrong rather than by your own circumstances, send us the details and we will check it against the official source.

Can you tell me how much tax I will pay?

No. We publish an estimate from published rates, not a personal tax calculation, and we cannot give advice on an individual’s situation. For a figure you can rely on, confirm it with the revenue authority named on our Methodology & Sources page or with a qualified adviser.

Do you store or sell the salary figures I type in?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser and the salary you enter is never transmitted to us. More detail is in the privacy policy.

Do you accept corrections from anyone, or only from professionals?

Anyone. A reader who has just compared our UK figure with GOV.UK is exactly as valuable to us as an accountant, and correcting a rate is the main reason this page exists.

Response time

We aim to reply within 2 business days. Corrections that need a source check may take a little longer, because we verify the rate before changing it rather than editing on request.
